La Casa Del Pueblo: Reviews & Ratings
I literally been coming here since I was a kid which is 50 years ago when it was in the supermarket. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant period. It's cafeteria style with the grandmother's recipes. The tamales are amazing the chicken mole Chile rellenos when all said and done you can't go wrong with anything you order.
I remember coming here as a kid with my dad and now as an adult all their dishes are delicious especially the machacado with beans and rice hands down the best old fashion restaurant in Chicago pilsen area i strongly recommend it to anyone that wants breakfast or lunch
We were in the area today and looking to try someplace. La Casa de Pueblo Taqueria had an overwhelming amount of positive reviews so we decided to give it a shot. As soon as we got our food we knew why there were so many positive reviews. The portion sizes for the price was extremely reasonable, especially for the city, and everything was absolutely delicious. We had the chilli rellenos tacos and my partner had the chicken with mole. Both of us were extremely satisfied with our meal and everything came out to 20 bucks with tax and tip tip. We may have just found our new place to hit up in the Pilsen area next time we're down there.
I had the huevos divorciados with green and red chilaquiles, plus a side of beans and rice, and it was exactly what I needed. The portions were generous, the flavors deeply traditional, and everything tasted truly homemade, the kind of meal that feels comforting and familiar from the first bite. On top of that, the customer service was incredibly attentive and thoughtful, from checking in at the right moments to making sure everything was just right without ever feeling rushed. You can really feel the care both in the kitchen and in how they treat their guests. I’d absolutely recommend it and will definitely be coming back the next time I’m in town.
Delicious authentic food! I ordered their torta de milanesa de res dinner & horchata. Service is very attentive and friendly. Would definitely come back!
Staff was so nice and the plate was very delicious loved my experiance today and thank you so much to everyone
Really good cafeteria-style restaurant in the heart of Pilsen. I have only ever been there for breakfast, to be honest. Very nice staff, great food.
Buffet style dinner Overall a great experience. The ambiance was super chill. A lot of Diego Rivera paintings that e capture Mexican art. The food was a bit salty for my taste. But it's something more resonant to what I eat at home. I would highly recommend for someone who wants authentic Mexican cuisine without breaking the bank.
